History
Pacific Boats was formed in the fall of 1986 by Mr. Daniel King. Originally as Pacific Manufacturing, Inc., Mr. King crafted custom made all-welded aluminum work boats or more commonly referred to as skiffs. In the United States, a "skiff" is known as a small, shallow draft, open deck work boat and is often called upon to meet the needs of commercial fishermen in Alaska. In addition to fulfilling the needs of these fishermen, the doors had been opened for oppportunities that ranged from set netting, crabbing, shrimping, aquaculture, hauling freight, construction, dredging, oil spill response, diving and resort use. Therefore after several successful years in manufacturing of these "made to order skiffs" the designs and manufacturing energies were re-routed into the development and a production of premium quality, high performance, deep V sport fishing boats.
With a marine engineering background, skills in commercial ship repair and manufacturing technologies, Mr. King brings over 30 years of marine industry experience to his company. In this highly fragmented industry, his boat design and manufacturing processes have continued to be industry leaders all the while meeting the individual needs of many fishermen across the world.
The current manufacturing facility is located 15 minutes north of Everett, Washington where The Boeing Company manufactures the worlds leading wide body commercial airplane, the "747". Due to its proximity, Pacific Boats has immediate access to a large and highly skilled workforce of aluminum fabricators, welders, machinists and technicians. With its 11,500 square foot facility, Pacific Boats is a short 40 minute commute to the Sea/Tac International Airport and the leading seaports of Seattle and Tacoma. The area is also served by two major U.S. rail carriers allowing for quick and easy Land bridge, truck, rail and air shipments of its products worldwide.
Pacific Boats appreciates its staff of dedicated and highly skilled craftsmen that allow the company to continue its tradition of producing cutting edge, rugged and safe boats for nearly all working conditions.
